It started just after lunch. A few students spotted something unusual through the cafeteria windows. At first, no one believed them.
“There are huge birds on the roof,” one of the younger kids whispered. Moments later, the teachers saw it too. Dozens of vultures were landing one by one, their wings spread wide, their bodies motionless.
They weren’t making noise. They weren’t circling. They were just… gathering. Right above the east wing of the school. And they weren’t leaving.
