What the Allgood Trio came up with? Retractable stairs! These steps look like normal stone steps which means they don’t diminish the exterior of the building. However, by pushing the button something fantastic happens: the normal-looking steps turn into a means for the lady in the wheelchair to enter the building. The only thing she has to do is push a button! The steps are called the Allgood Trio Sesame steps. Watch the video below to see how this amazing invention works.
On social media most people were really excited to see this initiative to make buildings better accessible for everyone. Some people were quick to point out that in this case the lady was still relying on someone else to prepare everything when entering the building, however most people emphasized it’s really great this building is wheelchair accessible.
Someone commented on YouTube the following: “This would be great for elderly people who can’t walk stairs, or in mobility scooters, instead of having to leave the scooter outside where it can be picked, or anyone who needs to use it. It shouldn’t be limited only to those in wheelchairs. There are many people who can’t go to places because they just can’t walk up the stairs. To differentiate, get them to show a disability card. Fantastic idea, these should be in every building that has stairs to support adequate access.” We certainly think that’s a great idea, what do you think?
