Beware! Your smartphone can quickly overheat in a hot climate

Tips

Of course, we don’t want our smartphone to catch fire, and there are a few things you can do to avoid overheating. These may sound logical, but it’s still good to think about them. This way, you not only keep a cool head during a heat wave, but you also keep your mobile phone cool.

1. Get your phone out of the heat

Place your phone in the shade or cooler place. For example, aim a fan at it. Note: do not put your smartphone in the refrigerator or in a cool box. The sudden change in temperature can be very harmful to the device.

2. Remove the case from your phone

A case is, of course, a very good way to protect your phone against scratches, but it also works as a kind of warm jacket. And let’s face it, with temperatures above 30 degrees, you shouldn’t even think about wearing a jacket. Therefore, take the case off your phone to let it cool down a bit.

3. Stop charging

When you charge your phone’s battery, it heats up. Therefore, unplug your charger to prevent further heating of your mobile.

4. Put your mobile in airplane mode

By putting your mobile in airplane mode, the antennas are switched off. These antennas generally generate a lot of heat, because many apps communicate with the internet in the background.
