Bagan, also called the “Valley of 10,000 temples”, is an ancient city which was the center of the Bagan Kingdom from approximately 1044 to 1287. The rulers of Bagan commissioned the construction of over 5,000 religious monuments on the plains. More than 2,000 of them can still be seen today, in various states of repair. The best way to experience the beauty of this city is from the air, by hot air balloon.
