Nickname
It usually takes a little while before new royals get a nickname from the rest of the family. But Prince Charles has taken the liberty to give Meghan her nickname already. You might expect something like ‘Meg’ or ‘Megs’, but the nickname couldn’t be more different. It’s not even remotely similar to her own name! Meghan is now being called ‘Tungsten’. That might sound strange, but the meaning behind it is pretty great.
Sausage
Tungsten is the name of a type of metal that is known for its strength and robustness. It has the highest melting point of all the elements! That’s a pretty big compliment to the Duchess of Sussex, we think. Meghan isn’t the only one who has a nickname. Prince Philip often calls Queen Elizabeth, his wife, ‘Sausage’. In turn, she calls him ‘The Hun’. How cute is that?
Spike Wells
Prince William and Prince Harry also both have nicknames. William is often called by his middle name ‘Steve’. This is also the name he used when he studied in Scotland. That way, he could do this is in a slightly more inconspicuous manner. Harry is often called ‘Spike’ or ‘Hazza’. He even once had a Facebook page under the name ‘Spike Wells’, but he had to delete it after fans and the media found out about it.
