Always be honest
Fortunately, Emma had a big heart and she was just really happy and relieved that his secret turned out to be something so small instead. She couldn’t care less about his troubled youth. Everybody has done stupid things when they were younger and Daniël had proven himself to be a very good man. He had to promise her one thing though, and that’s that he, from now on, would always be honest with her. With big relief, he promised her and they hugged each other for at least 10 minutes.
Then the police officers let them go and even dropped them off at their home. They were relieved as well and happy that they didn’t have to arrest him. From that moment on there was one thing that was every year on top of their New Year’s resolutions, and that was to: “Always be honest”.
