Troubled youth
It turned out that Daniël’s New Year’s resolution was to tell Emma all about his criminal past. He felt guilty about not telling her a lot of stuff he did when he was younger. Daniël used to have a troubled youth and he wasn’t exactly the perfect school kid. When he was just 15 years old, he secretly smoked marihuana in the schoolyard. He was always the one who arranged it for his classmates because he had the number of the dealer. That caused him to dial the number a lot of times and sometimes he even sold the marihuana, so when the school and the police investigated about marihuana deals, he was screwed.
On top of that, he had done some stupid things like stealing food at the supermarkets or in the cafeteria at school. He had been caught a few times and in those times he was well-known by the police. As a consequence of that, he was sentenced to do community service for a couple of months.
