Family traditions
As Lucy grew older, they decided that they wanted to make up a lot of family traditions together. They wanted Lucy to look back at her childhood with a smile. That’s why they had a lot of family time with the three of them. On the weekends, Daniël taught her how to play basketball and every Wednesday, Emma took her out for some swimming.
Another one of these traditions was making New Year’s resolutions which they wanted to achieve as a family. Every year they did this, they came up with the most amazing resolutions that only made their bond stronger. They sat around the dining table and took a big piece of paper the size of the table. Then they would take pencils, glitters, colored papers, and even paint to decorate the list. It was some sort of giant motivational board which they could hang in the living room to look at every day. On the list, there were often things written like: more trips with the whole family, at least one baking afternoon every week, and even sometimes some crazy things like adopting a pet. It was so wonderful and Emma cherished this wonderful tradition just as much as Lucy did. Unfortunately, this year Daniel ruined this tradition completely and Emma could never look at it the same.
