Lumberjacks find a bizarre creature in a hollow tree

The mummified dog

Until 2002, the mysterious dog had been nameless. In the Southern Forest World museum it was simply called the mummified dog”. It had been displayed in a prominent place, among important tree species such as cypress, pine and oak. The beast became a real crowd pleaser once its bizarre story got around.

For years the animal stood in the middle of the museum. It became some kind of ambassador. The museum used pictures of the mummy for most of their promotional material. It could also be found on the postcards the museum sold at the counter. Not naming a special mascot like that? Impossible, of course.
