Lumberjacks find a bizarre creature in a hollow tree

Kept alive

Because the chestnut tree can absorb moisture and contains tannins, nature has a very small influence on this tree. It has created its own ecosystem. This has resulted in the dog’s body being preserved much better than if it had been locked up in, for example, an oak tree.

The lack of moisture prevented the microbes from eating the dog’s tissue. Because of this, the rotting process did not start. This had an additional advantage. The body had not only withstood microbes, but also much greater forces that targeted it.
