Some kind of dog
From the loggers’ point of view, the legs and head of the beast were clearly visible. The creature had a long snout with a row of sharp teeth. The beast looked somewhat like a dog. At first they thought it was a wolf, but it was too small for that.
But, of course, the mystery wasn’t solved as soon as the lumberjacks realized it was some kind of dog. There were still so many questions! What was it exactly? What was it doing in the tree? How did it get there? How long had the beast been stuck in the trunk? Although their manager had told them to continue cutting down the rest of the trees, the group was completely distracted by these questions.
