American Gothic
Here’s a rare picture of the famous painting “American Gothic”, with the people who modeled for it standing in front of the masterpiece. Nan Wood Graham, sister of Grant Wood (who painted American Gothic), can be seen standing next to Dr. Byron McKeeby. They were chosen by the painter because in his mind, they looked like people who would live in the Gothic-styled house in the background.
