Three hours later, the doctors came into Lily’s room. Although taken aback to find Pradeep there, he wasn’t entirely surprised. He had noted the depth of Pradeep’s love for his wife during their earlier conversation. Hence, he conceded to Pradeep’s stay with Lily.
The doctor was there to present Lily with her test results and discuss the surgical procedure. He gently roused her, and upon waking, Lily was visibly elated to find Pradeep by her side. She managed to squeeze his hand and offer a smile, even though her weakness was apparent. She was still very much in recovery.
