The vet let Ranger’s owners know that their four-legged friend probably wouldn’t grow very old. Unfortunately, dogs with pituitary dwarfism often die quite young. To the vet’s surprise, Ranger is now four years old! This is much older than he had initially predicted.
The fact that Ranger is still alive doesn’t mean that everything is running smoothly. He now suffers from thyroid problems due to his dwarfism. The poor dog now receives medication for this. He will probably need to take this medicine for the rest of his life.
