Jonas was the first to look at the photo. He squinted, zoomed in, then silently turned the phone toward the others.
“What is that?” Luis asked, leaning in. Behind them, just past the edge of the boat, something dark was visible. Curved. Smooth. Almost shiny. But not a wave. Not a shadow.
They stared at it for a few minutes, unsure whether it was something in the water or just something stuck to the lens. Then the boat rocked.
