As the water got deeper, they noticed a change in the shark. It started to move more, its tail flicking with growing energy. The moment the shark felt the depth of the ocean beneath it, it began to swim, slowly at first, then with more confidence.
James and Maria paused, out of breath from their exertions. Their hearts raced as they observed the shark gradually picking up speed, its formidable shape slicing through the water, becoming a diminishing shadow in the vast blue. In that instant, they were so caught up in the sight that they momentarily forgot the danger they were in.
