Hospital
It was a long trip for Brooks, but the soldier finally made it to the hospital. There they told him that his wife was doing very well, thankfully. Right after giving birth, her blood pressure went down and there were no further complications. Brooks also immediately got details on Millie. She weighed 3.7 kilos at birth and was 53 centimeters tall. While she came into the world two weeks early, she was a strong and healthy baby.
“When Brooks got to the hospital, I asked all seventeen people in the room to leave,” Haley remembers. It was time for Millie to meet the soldier who had fought all day to meet her: her father.
