17. The way it smells after it rains is called ‘Petrichor’
Everyone knows exactly what we’re talking about. That characteristic smell in the air after it has rained… But almost nobody knows that it has a name. It’s called ‘petrichor’. When a raindrop lands on a porous surface, air from the pores forms small bubbles, which float to the surface and release that scent we all know.
