Vernon frowned, contemplating the suggestion. “I don’t want to escalate things, Jake. I’ve seen enough violence during my time in the military. I would love to have a quiet and peaceful life but I can’t just sit here and do nothing.”
Jake shrugged. “Think about it, man. We could just show up, talk to them, and make them uncomfortable. They might just get scared and leave without it coming to blows. No one likes dealing with a gang.”
