Samantha had been eagerly anticipating her best friend’s wedding for months. It was meant to be a much-needed escape from the chaos of her life. But just a day before the ceremony, she received a call from Julie, informing her that it would be a child-free wedding and that she shouldn’t bring her kids.
Arranging a sitter on such short notice was tough, but Samantha didn’t let it ruin her day. However, as she entered the venue, she felt uneasy. There were plenty of kids running around—toddlers playing near the entrance, older kids darting around the reception area.
Samantha pushed it aside. Maybe they were family members’ kids? She decided to let it slide, but before the ceremony, she heard a faint rustling behind her.
