Adam was sitting in the living room. He didn’t even look up when I entered. “Adam, what is this?”, but there was no mistaking the hurt and betrayal in my tone. “You’ve moved in with Dave? Why?”
He looked at me, his face twisted. “I can’t do this. I can’t handle it. The baby, she’s too loud!” My world crashed down around me. “You left us because she’s loud?!” My voice trembled with disbelief. What kind of a man would leave his family?
I turned around and fled the house, without another word to Adam.
