A tidal wave of incredulity washed over him as he questioned his own obliviousness. How had he missed this?! His focus had been entirely absorbed by a group of zebras grazing in the distance, their striking stripes weaving a mesmerizing pattern against the landscape. So engrossed was he that he had failed to notice the lioness stealthily approaching from behind.
