“Where could she be?” she muttered, the words barely escaping her lips. Ruby placed a comforting hand on her shoulder, but Susan felt it only faintly through the fog of her panic. It was as if the ground had been yanked out from under her. “He took Margo,” Susan whispered, her voice hollow with disbelief.
