“Excuse me,” Jason said, struggling to keep his voice even. “Can you please take your foot down? This is really uncomfortable.” The woman barely glanced at him, her face twisted in irritation. “There’s no space for my legs,” she retorted, as if that justified her rudeness. “I need to stretch out. It’s not my fault these seats are so cramped.”
