The letters were deeply personal, as if her grandmother had known Mia would one day live there. Each one offered advice, warnings, and a closing message: “If he’s tapping, listen.”
The next morning, the bird returned. Mia opened the window this time, and instead of flying away, it simply chirped once—then left.
