Finding out your car battery is dead or broken always comes at the worst possible moment. In most cases, you’re just about to leave and of course, you want to reach your destination on time. A dead battery will ruin your plans quite thoroughly. However, if you take proper care of your car battery, it will last for a long time without any problems.
The average car battery will last between four and six years.

A new battery costs somewhere between 100 and 265 euros and that is excluding the installation costs. We’d much rather spend this money on something else and we’re pretty sure you would too. Regularly drive long distances
It’s good for your battery to drive long distances on a regular basis. According to the Motor Trade Association, regularly driving short distances can cause your battery to wear down more quickly. Car batteries charge when you drive long distances. It’s completely charged after driving eight hours. This doesn’t mean that you should drive for eight hours straight every week (or ever – always take breaks), but it is smart to make sure you don’t just drive short distances.
