Keep the heater clean
Another way to save yourself some cleaning work: with aluminum foil, cleaning up the heater or fireplace becomes a lot easier. Once you’ve scooped all the ash from the bottom, try putting down a sheet of aluminum foil. Then next time you only have to remove that sheet with all the ashes. That saves you a lot of time you would otherwise spend on a broom and dustpan.
