Lifehack: This is why you should put a potato in your shoe

Put a potato in your shoe and you’ll be much more comfortable!

It’s such a bummer when you’ve bought new shoes and find out when you get home that they actually are a little bit too small. Back in the store, you thought that it was fine, but when you start wearing them, your toes and heels start to complain. Oh no! What now? It’s a waste to just put those new shoes away, but being in pain while wearing them isn’t a great idea either. Luckily, we’ve got a solution.

You can stretch your shoes using a potato.

Pinch

Unfortunately, it happens a lot. In the store, you think the shoes fit you just fine, but once your home and start wearing them, they start to pinch quite a lot. Although the sales clerk confidently told you they will definitely stretch a little in time, you’ll be in pain in the meantime and that’s not what you want. So, what to do? You can take your shoes to the shoemaker to have them stretched or you can simply suppress the pain and deal with. Those seem to be the options, right? Well, you could also just get out two potatoes!

Stretch

To stretch a shoe you’ll need a combination of filling an moisture. Some people choose to put wet newspapers in their shoes, but that doesn’t always work. A potato is much firmer, of course, and it’ll never dent when a shoe is very tight. Plus, a lot of people will already own a bag of potatoes anyway. Why not use them for this purpose?
