It’s such a waste to throw out empty egg cartons right away!
If you want to throw out less and recycle more, this is definitely a good idea. After you’ve used all the eggs in an egg carton, the common thing is to throw it away. Next time you’ve got an empty egg carton, though, you might want to wait with throwing it out. There are a couple of handy things you can do with it!
Which of these tricks are you going to try?
Planting seeds
Do you want to try your hand at gardening but do you also want to start out small? In that case an empty egg carton is your friend. The cups in the carton are perfectly suited for growing seeds. Use some potting soil and plant a seed in every cup. Are the plants getting too big for the cups? Then you can move them to a larger pot or to your garden.
Transporting cupcakes
When you’ve spent a good deal of time in your kitchen to bake some delicious cupcakes, you’ll want to make sure that they get to their destination completely intact. A perfect method to transport these sweet cakes is in an empty egg carton. Both the cakes and the toppings will remain undamaged.
Bird feeder
We love it when all kinds of different birds visit our garden in spring time. Do you want to feed the birds in your garden in an environmentally friendly way? Use egg cartons! You can very easily fashion a bird feeder from an egg carton and some string and hang this in a tree. This way, you don’t have to buy bird food at a store, where it comes in plastic netting.
