New cladding, windows and of course a fresh layer of paint has the old lighthouse look like something completely different. Of course James made sure it had still retained the original and recognizable lantern room. Did you know it’s actually still a functioning lighthouse? Although not required James often decides to turn on the light at night.
The building is of course small, and so everything inside has to be functional. Such as this tiny kitchen. Made from local wood by James’ nephew Mark. Its crowning jewel? The cute window looking out over the ocean. With views like this you’ll be wanting to cook every day of the week.
As for James’ favorite place? It’s actually not even inside the lighthouse, James is most proud of the deck attached to the building, on which he can spend his evenings watching the sun sink into the ocean.
Can you imagine yourself living here? We certainly can! James himself hopes to be able to remain living here for some more years, but is also looking forward to the day someone else will be the lighthouse keeper.
