This is the golden rule when it comes to keeping your lawn in perfect shape
Do you have a beautiful green lawn? Then you’ll want to keep it looking like that, of course. Persisting drought can cause a lawn to dry out and lose its colour pretty quickly. When that happens, you could keep your sprinklers on for hours on end, but this won’t always benefit your garden (or the environment). However, there is a golden rule that will help you keep the grass looking amazing all throughout the year.
And it has nothing to do with the amount of water you give it.
Golden rule
So, the amount of water isn’t of that much importance, but the length of the blades of grass does have a lot of influence on the health of your lawn. When mowing the lawn, most people will cut off quite a bit of length; that way, they won’t have to mow again quite so soon. However, it’s better for your lawn if the grass is a little bit longer. This will make sure it looks nice for as long as possible. A length of 5 to 7 centimetres is perfect. To compare: most people mow their grass to a length of 3 or 4 centimetres.
