Landscaping tips
There are a couple of other things you can keep in mind when you’re designing your garden. For example, including a pond with aquatic plants is a good idea. These plants rarely ever cause hay fever symptoms. Don’t have room for a pond? You can also go for a water barrel with aquatic plants. This will look very cute, too! It’s also important to limit the growth of weeds in your garden as much as possible. Weeds are a very common source of pollen. To prevent this from happening as much as possible, you can choose to use ground cover like deaf nettle, ground ivy and/or periwinkle.
What not to do
It’s best to avoid trees that give off a lot of pollen. Among others, the list of that type of trees includes the oak, alder, sea buckthorn, birch, ash, chestnut, hazel, yew, elderberry and hornbeam. You also shouldn’t have privet in your garden. Privet blooms and needs to be clipped regularly. Instead, you could go for hawthorn or bay laurel.
