3. Paper napkins
They’re handy to use at a dinner party or just when you’re having dinner with your family: paper napkins. But you might want to think about the environment with this one! You throw away every napkin after using it which means you’re basically throwing away money. A lot of inexpensive stores also sell cloth napkins that are washable. A small investment, but it goes a long way.
4. Cheap sandwich bags
Of course, the best thing would be to not use them at all (think of the environment!) but sometimes a sandwich bag can be really handy. Try to go for a slightly more expensive type of sandwich bag. These will tear less quickly and are a lot sturdier. You spend a little bit more money, but you actually get value for your money. Plus, you can reuse a sturdy plastic bag if it hasn’t gotten too dirty.
5. Foil
Do you always get frustrated when cling wrap or aluminium foil won’t come off the roll? You’re probably using a cheap product. Avoid a lot of frustration and invest in foil from a more expensive brand.
6. Bad knives
Every home cook needs a good set of knives. Cheap knives can actually be quite dangerous because you have to hack and saw to slice through your food. So, instead of getting a bunch of cheap little knives, invest in a few good, sharp knives. They will last a long time and will make cutting meat and vegetables a lot easier.
