4. Turmeric is good for your heart
Turmeric also has a beneficial effect on your heart. It contains substances that have a positive effect on the functioning of the heart and blood cells. In one study, a group of 121 patients undergoing surgery were given 4 grams of turmeric or a placebo a few days later. In the group that received the spice, the risk of a heart attack in the hospital decreased by 65%. That’s why it would make sense to add turmeric to your diet if you’re at risk for heart disease.
