4. Sudden, intense pain
If you’re suddenly experiencing heavy, intense stomach pain, something is probably wrong. Are you experiencing a sharp, stabbing feeling that takes your breath away? Then you might have kidney stones or gallstones. When the stabbing pains arise spontaneously and get progressively more painful, you might be dealing with appendicitis. Visit a doctor right away.
5. Stomach pain in combination with weight loss
Unintended weight loss is always a cause for worry and should be assessed by a doctor, even if it doesn’t happen in combination with stomach pain or other symptoms. This could point to pancreatitis, Crohn’s disease, cancer or other diseases.
6. Stomach pain and fever
If you’re experiencing pain in your stomach in combination with a fever, you might be dealing with an infection. Contact a doctor if this is the case.
