Scars
“The liver is full of scar and it’s attempting to regenerate itself and as it regenerates it comes up against scar and it forms more scar,” Dr Drew explains about the unhealthy version. The liver probably belonged to someone who died of cirrhosis, which is the last stage of liver fibrosis.
Cirrhosis
Cirrhosis arises when your liver has been permanently damaged and has had to suffer long-term alcohol abuse, hepatitis or obesity. The damage is irreversible, but bettering your lifestyle could help to make sure that the organ doesn’t get damaged any further and it could prolong your life.
