Follow these tips and you won’t be eating too much during the holidays this year
December: it’s the festive month that’s all about being together and eating the most delicious food. Christmas cookies, turkey, dessert, chocolate… Put it all together and you’ll realise just how many calories you’re consuming this month. Are you usually full of regret when you get on the scale after Christmas? These tips will prevent you from gaining those extra Christmas pounds.
Gaining weight during the holidays is a thing of the past.
1. Planning
By planning your meals, you’ll avoid bad eating habits and having sneaky snacks in between. Try to find out what you’re going to be eating for Christmas dinner. Next, you can decide what you do want to eat and what you’re going to pass on. Do you have intel that your aunt is bringing her famous tiramisu? Have a generous piece of that, but make sure you don’t go to town on the other four types of dessert.
2. Drink water
It’s important to drink a lot of water during the holidays. This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t drink any alcohol at all, but try to keep to this system: drink two glasses of water before drinking one glass of alcohol. This way, you’ll avoid drinking too much alcohol just because you’re thirsty.
