Comfort zone
When we think of wool, we mostly think of that itchy fabric that makes us want to scratch our skin constantly. But after you’ve stared at the ceiling, unable to sleep, for long enough, you might want to give this a try. And according to Sky News, that’s not such a bad idea. They explain that Australian scientists have discovered that it’s easiest for your body to remain in the “thermal comfort zone” when you’re sleeping if you wear woollen pyjamas.
Research
The research discovered that students in their twenties fell asleep four minutes earlier when they wore merino pyjamas instead of cotton ones. They fell asleep within 11 minutes instead of 15 minutes. For adults in the age range of 65 to 70, the difference was much bigger. They fell asleep within 12 minutes when they wore merino PJs and within 27 minutes when they wore cotton ones. So, if you’re having trouble falling asleep on a regular basis, why not give this a try?
