On Facebook, Shawna shared images of her daughter’s legs to warn other parents. Dawna told 41 Action News that she’d never heard her daughter scream as she did when she went off that slide. Although there were signs around the playground that warned people about possibly hot surfaces, Dawna thinks this is not enough since they can easily be overlooked. She also stated: “Everybody says, ‘That wouldn’t be me, that wouldn’t be my child. I could never let this happen to my child.’ It could happen to you. It really could.”
