Weak spots
Lisa Simon, a dentist at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, explains that white spots on your teeth have to do with the buildup of dental plaque. The spots often appear in places where the tooth is weaker and where the enamel is being attacked by sugar and plaque. Wearing braces can also cause spots to appear. That’s because wearing braces often means you can’t brush your teeth as well as you could if you didn’t have braces. This causes your teeth to become weaker in those places you cannot reach properly.
