Say goodbye to mildew or nasty stains on your shower curtain!
If you step under the shower you don’t want to notice your shower curtain has stains on it or looks a lot more yellow than before. It’s not the most hygienic look. You might think you’re going to have to buy a new one, but that’s such a waste! There’s no need to throw out your shower curtain, because it’s very easy to wash it – if you do it the right way.
Your discolored shower curtain will look as good as new!
Washing machine
Put the curtain into the washing machine and wash it on a low spin speed using liquid laundry detergent. Add two or three towels to the machine; they will help with the cleaning process. When the washing machine is done, hang the curtain to dry or put it in the dryer. If you do put it in the dryer, you should choose a cold program, one for delicates. This trick works especially well for shower curtains that are made of plastic or vinyl. If your shower curtain is made of cotton, nylon, polyester or hemp we recommend reading the label carefully.
Windows and doors
You want to avoid mildew as much as possible. This is why it’s advisable to open a window when you’ve had a shower, or to briefly open the door. In any case, make sure the moisture can get out of the room. You also shouldn’t forget to close the shower curtain. These small actions can make a huge difference when it comes to preventing mildew.
