3. Make-up
If you accidentally drop some make-up powder on the floor, you might be tempted to grab the vacuum and clean it with that. Depending on the type of make-up and whether you’ve got carpet on the floor, you shouldn’t clean make-up with your vacuum. That’s because in some cases the vacuum will only spread the make-up instead of sucking it up. Besides, different products like eyeshadow and foundation can melt together, as it were, which can cause a blockage in your vacuum cleaner. You’re much better off trying to pick most of it up off the floor and clean the rest with the help of some baking soda. You can also try this trick.
4. A lot of hair
Vacuuming up a couple of hairs that have fallen to the floor or onto the carpet is no problem. However, if you want to clean up a lot of hair at once, for example, if you’ve cut your own hair, it’s better to sweep them up instead. Hair can get tangled in the brush of your vacuum, which means you might not be able to use it properly afterwards.
