Baking soda
No matter how well you wash the cutting board, it can happen that the stain is so deep that it takes more to remove it. This is where baking soda comes in. Together with some water and salt you can make an effective remedy that removes discoloration. Make a paste with equal parts of baking soda, water and salt and spread it over the stain. Use a sponge or dish brush to go over the stain, and rinse well. Finally, wash the cutting board by hand or in the dishwasher and voila!
Lemon
Lemon juice can also help against stubborn stains. Especially if you combine it with salt, it is a very effective remedy. Sprinkle the salt on the stain and cut the lemon in half. Take half a lemon and squeeze out the juice over the stain. Let this soak in for about ten minutes. Take the other half of the lemon and rub it over the salt-lemon mixture. Finally, rinse with warm water. Do all of the above tips not work? Then it might be time to replace your cutting board. Good luck!
