Not looking forward to cleaning? These cleaning tasks won’t take long

We never feel like spending hours cleaning our house. Who does? To make things a little easier, we’d much rather break up that big task into little pieces. That’s why we’ve put together a list of 12 cleaning tasks you can finish within one hour – and some even much quicker! These are also tasks we don’t do on a weekly basis, so it’s high time to get on them!

Many of these cleaning tasks will only take you a couple of minutes.

1. Shower

Let’s start with a small task: lightly cleaning the shower. Put a bottle of limescale cleaner next to your shower or mix together equal parts water and vinegar in a spray bottle. Every time you’ve showered, you can spray the wall and floor with this mixture and then clean it with a cloth and a squeegee. It’ll only take a minute every day, but it’ll save you a lot of cleaning time later.

2. Bookshelves

Do you own a lot of books? Chances are your bookshelves end up looking a little messy after some time. Books are sticking out, standing askew or lying on their sides. Take a few minutes to straighten all of the books and replace any books that might be lying about the house.

3. Make-up

This task will take a little longer than a minute but still doesn’t need to take a lot of time at all. Throw out all cosmetics that have passed their expiration date or that you’ve stopped using ages ago. How do you know whether your make-up is still okay to use? By looking at it and smelling it. If it’s started to separate, changed colour or smells bad, you need to throw it out.

4. Vacuum furniture

If you always vacuum your furniture when you’re vacuuming anyway: we applaud you! Not everyone does, though, so it might be a good idea to take a little time out of your day to vacuum your furniture. Vacuum clean your sofa and chairs and don’t forget to get beneath the pillows – that’s where all the crumbs have gotten to.
