From fame to working a 9-to-5: The struggles of being a D-listed celebrity

Danny Lloyd

When it comes to horror movie performances, few are as memorable as Danny Lloyd’s turn as Danny Torrance in Stanley Kubrick’s 1980 masterpiece, The Shining. Lloyd’s portrayal of the young, psychic boy was both powerful and downright creepy, and it’s no wonder that the film has gone down in history as a classic. But despite his memorable performance, Lloyd didn’t pursue a career as an actor.

In fact, he took a sharp turn in a completely different direction, becoming a biology professor in Kentucky. Now, we know what you’re thinking – how could anyone who was so talented at being creepy and terrifying on screen turn around and become a respected professor in a completely unrelated field? It’s almost like Danny Lloyd is some kind of shape-shifting horror movie monster, able to transform from a child actor to a college professor at will. But hey, we’re not complaining – we have a feeling Lloyd’s biology lectures are probably way more interesting than the average classroom experience.
