We introduce you to José Antonio “Pepe” Bastón Patiño: a Mexican businessman and media mogul. When the two met, he was managing director of Televisa, Latin America’s largest media company.

In interviews, Longoria always waxes lyrical about her relationship with Bastón. “It felt like a cliché with such a chorus of angels and him beaming at me and there was an instant click,” she looked back on the beginning of their relationship in conversation with People.
Happy family
From a previous marriage, Bastón had four children: eldest daughter Natalia, and triplets Mariana, Jose Antonio and Sebastián. Of them, little Sebastian sadly died just hours after his birth.
Thus, with her marriage, Longoria suddenly had a whole slew of stepchildren as well. “They are such an enrichment of my life,” she stated. And when asked if she didn’t want another child of her own with her husband, she responded clearly, “It doesn’t feel like we’re lacking anything because we don’t have a child.”

Nevertheless, in December 2017 news broke that Longoria and Bastón were expecting their first child together, and in 2018 little Santiago “Santi” Enrique Bastón saw the light of day. We now see the sprout regularly popping up in snaps on the actress’ Instagram account. From cozy cooking with mom, to trips around the world: the little one is clearly lucky to have a mother like Longoria.
Blind date
But what about their first date? In conversation with Conan o’Brien during his talk show Conan, Eva Longoria revealed that Bastón was not actually waiting for a date. The businessman did not actually know exactly who she was, and had initially declined the invitation for a date. After all, he was far too busy for such a random blind date.
Fortunately, then, things turned out all right in the end!
