Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian’s house, formerly shared with ex-husband Kanye West, is a stunning architectural marvel situated in Hidden Hills. The $60 million mansion, initially purchased for $20 million in 2014, underwent an extensive renovation, with the then-couple moving in December 2017. They worked closely with Belgian architect Axel Vervoordt, who helped them to create a distinctive minimalist design that features an almost-church-like aesthetic.
Kim’s home is not just a symbol of luxury but a space that embraces her family’s needs, especially her four children, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. The playroom, often a hub of activity, is equipped with everything from a ball pit and slide setup to Murakami pillows. Moreover, it’s designed to promote creativity and fun, with a host of musical instruments and costumes neatly arranged, sparking imagination and play.
An Isabel Rower sculpture forms an integral part of the interior design, getting its own dedicated room and serving as an interactive art installation. Kim’s eldest daughter, North, has a room that breaks away from the house’s monochrome theme, adorned with blush and butterfly decor.
Now that’s what we call a bedroom!
The unique design extends to the kitchen and the coffee corner, featuring a ‘Floating Stone’ table, and an island topped with ceramic vases created by Japanese artist Shiro Tsujimura. The breakfast nook serves as a cozy corner for family meals, while the pantry is hyper-organized, much like her sister Khloé’s.
The minimalist and modern design continues in the bathroom, which is both luxurious and puzzling. The master bathroom features custom-designed sinks with no basins, instead of using a sloped surface and a slot at the edge as a drain.
The home isn’t without whimsy. For Christmas, the mansion turns into a winter wonderland, decorated with white tree sculptures, a real snow hill for sledding in the backyard, and a tunnel of 10,000 lights. For Valentine’s Day 2019, West surprised Kim by inviting Kenny G to perform in their living room amidst a field of roses.
While the house represents ultimate luxury and sophistication, it’s also designed with security in mind. A ‘security pod’ is manned 24 hours a day, ensuring the safety of the household. Despite its austere appearance, this house is a home, filled with laughter, family gatherings, and lots of love.
In recent years, Kim seems to have relaxed the initial rule of not showing the home on social media, giving fans glimpses of her house’s fascinating interior design, her kids’ playroom, and other elements of her family life. These snapshots paint a vivid picture of a home that is not just a piece of architecture but a living, breathing space where a family grows, thrives, and creates memories.
