Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi made a record-breaking real estate purchase in 2022 in Carpinteria, Santa Barbara County. The power couple acquired two adjacent properties for a combined total of nearly $70 million. The first property is a Tuscan farmhouse-style mansion sitting on 3.4 acres, which they purchased for $41.7 million. The second property, a mostly vacant 6.6-acre plot of land next door, was acquired for $28.2 million. The two parcels now form a contiguous 10-acre compound with a private pathway leading to the beach below.
The newly acquired mansion boasts five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and over 9,000 square feet of living space spread across three levels. It features exquisite architectural details such as high exposed wood-beam ceilings, hardwood floors, stone archways, and marble accents.
The main level includes a grand great room with an antique fireplace, a family room, a dining area, and a gourmet kitchen with professional-grade appliances. Upstairs, there are five ensuite bedrooms, including a luxurious master retreat with a spa-equipped terrace. The lower level offers a wine cellar and a state-of-the-art movie theater.
